The next membership meeting for CIDSO will be held on Tuesday, April 9th at 6:00 p.m.  It will be held at Calvary United Methodist Church, Classroom L-7. 

 (Church is located on the corners of Raab and Towanda in Normal. Park in front of Church. Enter main door and head to wall of windows. Go to the left and down the stairs or elevator. At the bottom of the stairs , go left down a short hall and right through the double doors. Classroom L-7 is down on the right. )

I recognize that we were not able to reschedule the meeting that was originally to be held in January but was cancelled due to dangerously cold temperatures.  Please know that this was not intentional or desired, but the committee's attempts to reschedule put us so close to our regular quarterly meeting that it didn't make sense to hold it.  The desired meeting schedule is January/April/July/October, which coincides with our fiscal quarters so the financial data is complete -- the Treasurer and Funds Administrator compile their data quarterly.  CIDSO will also hold a meeting in mid-December to approve the budget for the next fiscal year, as was done this past December for the 2019 budget, and address any other agenda items that might arise.  It will be a regular membership meeting with the primary purpose of approving the budget.

In case you were wondering how this fits with the meeting requirements in our by-laws, I want to reassure you that I checked to be sure we are in compliance.  The by-laws state that at least four membership meetings must be held each year.  There is no specific requirement that they are held quarterly, although that makes the most sense so financial information can be reported.  Given our plan to hold meetings in April, July, October, and December of this year, we are still meeting our requirements.  Any action items that were intended for the January meeting will be presented at the April meeting; no items will be taken off of the agenda.

We do NOT intend to take any quarterly meetings off of the schedule, and it would require another strange turn of events to cause it to happen in the future.  We will remain compliant with the by-laws' requirements.
